Organist Wim Roelfsema is beginning a series of concerts entitled “Divina Musica” (Divine Music).
For this he has put together a programme of his most beloved works from Johann Sebastian Bach, perhaps the greatest composer of all time.
The programme consists of the following works:
Prelude and Fugue in B minor, BWV 544
“Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele”, BWV 654
Trio Sonata in D minor, BWV 527
Chaconne, BWV 1004
Pièce d’Orgue, BWV 572
Each of these compositions is amongst the best of its kind, and has drawn pronouncements of its greatness from the lips of many a writer and composer.
Robert Schumann said of “Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele”: ‘As priceless and profound a piece of music that ever sprang from an artist’s imagination’.
The concert lasts an hour, preceded by a spoken introduction.
Please contact Wim Roelfsema if you are interested in hosting this concert.
